About Cortney

Hello there. I'm Cortney. First and foremost, I am a child of God. I pray to him every day, and am so thankful for everything he has given me in my life, good or bad. I am a wife and mommy as well. I've been married to my amazing husband since September 2009, and I don't know where I would be in life without him. We have a beautiful little girl named Riley. She is growing up so fast, and makes each and every day worth waking up. I am a photographer by degree, a title clerk by day, and a DIY-er by night/weekend. I love everything to do with DIY and home decor. My style is very eclectic, and includes an emphasis on rustic-country and modern. I know, I know, a weird combination, but it really works! I'm sure you are curious about the title of my blog. To make the explanation short and sweet, it comes from the "yellow barn" at my grandparent's house (picture below). My grandpa built it many, many years ago, and us kids would go out there and try to find "treasures" in that barn. I love memories like those. When I'm not doing any of the things mentioned above, I love to watch college football, cook and bake, shop for designer purses (guilty pleasure), or enjoy a coffee every now and then. If you have suggestions on a DIY or project you would like to see on here, please let me know. I am always open for ideas. I'm glad you stopped by, now have fun DIY-ing!
